Preventing and treating those dreaded under eye wrinkles
Women of every age loathe the inevitable day they spy a wrinkle, anywhere! Under eye wrinkles are particularly annoying and are some of the first to show up. Perhaps when we reach a certain age, we begin to accept that it's inevitable, but we do want to push that date as far into the future as possible. While there are many effective cosmetic products that can help to prevent and treat these unwelcome under eye wrinkles, there's a lot more you can do to retain your youthful appearance. What goes in to your body has a dramatic effect on your appearance and how long it takes before you have to deal with the problem.
Sure, we've heard it time and again, but it's nonetheless true.
Dietary habits matter. While you can't see what's going on inside your body, remember that the skin is the largest organ in the human body. Sooner or later, that organ will reflect your state of health. That said, it's also never too soon or too late to make some positive changes
You're probably aware that there are cosmetic creams made specifically for under eye wrinkles. This is because the skin immediately under the eyes is the most delicate tissue on your face and must be treated more gently. If you've already got some of these wrinkles, use one of these products, along with a few natural treatments and dietary changes. Every proactive step you take will accelerate the reduction of the under eye wrinkles, as well as the rest of your skin in general.
Antioxidant nutrients do help tremendously, as these affect every part of your overall health. What you may not know is that, in addition to eating such foods, many can be topically applied, working directly on the skin through absorption at the target site. Get these nutrients working both from the inside out and outside in!
Vitamin C is one of the most powerful allies in the battle against wrinkles. Vitamin C is what builds and preserves collagen, the connective tissue that produces smooth, supple youthful looking skin. In addition to eating fruits and veggies which are high in antioxidants, including vitamin C, take a supplement made with natural sources, such as rosehips, rutin and bioflavanoids. Natural sources are more readily absorbed and do not give you an upset stomach.
Here are some ways to topically address under eye wrinkles, as well as other areas of the face and neck.
A nightly application of avocado, sweet almond or coconut oil helps your skin remain elastic and smooth. You can also use a sterilized needle to pierce a gel capsule of vitamins A, E and Omega-3 fatty acids. Squeeze a small amount into your palm, then gently apply to the under eye wrinkles, working from the outer corner to the bridge of your nose. Don't smear it on, just dab. You never want to stretch the under eye skin area, as it's so delicate.
You may have seen some of the inexpensive facial masks available in drugstores. Choose one that contains strawberry or pineapple, with valuable bromelaids which aid in building collagen and toning the skin. Be careful to avoid applying too close to the eyes, as the labeling instructs.
Vitamin C Ester is a commercial product which is highly effective in reducing wrinkles, including those crow's feet, laugh lines and under eye wrinkles. It's equally effective as a collagen builder and firming agent. This product is a solution you can stir into your regular face cream. Here are a few more tips.
Use glycerine soap to cleanse, followed by witch hazel or rose water to close and firm the pores. Use sunscreen daily! Smoking is possibly your skin's worst enemy, so quitting is a great asset to your skin and overall health. Go easy on alcoholic beverages, which tend to dry the skin cells.
If you implement all of these measures, you'll see those under eye wrinkles all but disappear, along with those deeper wrinkles you hate to spot!
